Why We Choose TENCEL™ Over Organic Cotton

Many people assume “organic cotton” automatically means cleaner and safer. However, unless cotton is fully GOTS certified, chemicals can still be used throughout the manufacturing process.

Conventional cotton production can involve thousands of chemical applications across its lifecycle. In contrast, Lenzing TENCEL™ is produced using one non-toxic organic solvent in a closed-loop system and that solvent is almost entirely recovered and reused.

The result is a cleaner fiber manufactured with significantly fewer chemical inputs.

Eucalyptus trees regenerate quickly, require less water than cotton, and are grown without heavy pesticide use. The fiber yield of TENCEL™ is up to 10 times higher than conventional cotton, meaning fewer resources are required to produce more fabric.

Lenzing’s patented solvent-spinning technology recycles nearly 100% of the processing solvent in a closed-loop system, dramatically reducing environmental impact.

The forests used for sourcing are certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and PEFC, ensuring responsible forestry practices.
